From the frontiers of print advertising

I find print advertising pretty fascinating. It’s like in a world of the web, they have had to step their game up. These 2 caught my eye

Gin is not the most popular drink. Vodka, heck, Whiskey and Rum have done a number on the old Gin popularity wise. So I find what Tanqueray is attempting to do pretty interesting. They started out with those Tony Sinclair “that’s how you Tanqueray” ads; trying to turn the brand into a verb. Lately they have been running print ads with Idris Elba. As a dude, however, I found the above ad very effective: A beautiful slim woman laughing in the most endearing way possible that a woman can laugh, i.e. without self-consciousness while maintaining her poise. With the bold statement: The Lady Gets What the Lady Wants. The rest of the script begs the man who are in her presence to be present and of course to drink Tanqueray. It’s somehow even more expressive when they suggest she is a mum and the man is married to her. Beautifully done. Suck it Idris Elba. Good luck trying to get the women to drink gin.

It takes some balls to turn bathroom ‘furniture’ into a fashion statement and Kohler has some big round steel ones. Witness the ginger witch above riding the 3 horsemen of the inner bathroom. Wicked.
